HAL STOWERS WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL ART
ADVENTURES

Maine

On board Sky Fair

Every day we cruised, from our home port of Blue Hill Bay -- exclaiming about the dramatic precipitous granite coastline, comforting anchorages and, of course, the strategically placed lighthouses. Amongst the great cruising grounds we explored (with our friends who had lots of local knowledge!) were Blue Hill Bay, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Somes Sound, Mount Desert, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Eggemoggin Reach, Deer Isle, Stonington, Bucks Harbor, Castine, Penobscot Bay, and Pulpit Harbor on North Haven, with a spectacular view of the Camden Hills.
Given the sheer ruggedness of the coastline, and the navigational skills required for safe passage in these changeful waters, Hal selected to paint the
Bass Harbor Light to symbolize the crucial
importance of these enduring totem like beacons. It is entitled "Bass Harbor Bar - be prepared."

Arriving back at home port after doing the real thing ... lobstering with "Mainers" on their fine lobster boat!
(Check out the neat dinghy)
Hal couldn't resist painting this view from our window (including the lobster boat) looking East across Blue Hill Bay to
Mount Desert Island. The painting is entitled "A New Day at Blue Hill Bay"

A true to life, down home, lobster bake

The finale -- A true to life, down home, lobster bake prepared by our friends, real Mainers, beginning with harvesting the lobster from their back yard - Blue
Hill Bay. A delicious Adventure!

Unique and delicious!

Pulling, sizing, and banding the lobster from the pots is very exciting!
